Edu4Impact: Innovating adult education through SEL and sport

The Edu4Impact project is reshaping the landscape of adult education by combining Social Emotional Learning (SEL) with the transformative power of sports. As educators increasingly face the challenge of supporting adults at risk of social exclusion, the project provides innovative, evidence-based tools designed to strengthen soft skills, emotional awareness, and inclusive practices. By doing so, Edu4Impact addresses emerging educational needs within the third sector and supports professionals in creating more engaging, compassionate, and effective learning environments.

At the heart of the project is an extensive research and review phase, analysing European and international good practices on SEL and sport-based methodologies. This involves identifying at least 15 good practices, conducting a minimum of 500 surveys among adult educators, and organising focus groups in each partner country. These activities will define ten core SEL training areas and several real-world educational cases, forming the foundation for an innovative, experience-based training model. Partners contribute collaboratively to this process: Drosostalida leads research activities, ENDAS Sicilia oversees the definition of SEL training areas, and Consorzio Tartaruga coordinates the creation of the Edu4Impact Training Plan.

Building on this research, Edu4Impact is developing an open-access e-learning platform that will host a complete training programme for adult educators. This includes approximately 10 hours of modular learning, experiential activities, toolkits, and a virtual assistant. Sorangeli leads the implementation of the digital learning platform, ensuring technical robustness and evaluation systems. WP3 activities are coordinated by Consorzio Tartaruga, while ENDAS Sicilia leads the Train-the-Trainers mobility and supervises the implementation of local training groups. Sport2Live then takes the lead in publishing the results of the experimentation and transforming them into practical guidelines for educators across Europe.

Finally, each partner plays a strategic role in ensuring that the project’s impact reaches European stakeholders, communities, and educators. ENDAS Sicilia coordinates dissemination efforts, including the social media rota, communication materials, and quarterly reports. Consorzio Tartaruga hosts the project website and leads key multiplier events, while all partners contribute to national dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and reporting. With results made fully open-access and multilingual, Edu4Impact’s collaborative structure ensures that its innovative SEL Through Sport methodology will have lasting impact on adult education and social inclusion throughout Europe.

Stay tuned for our results!
