Sport2live promotes motivation and inclusion through physical activity in the Edu4Impact project
As part of its participation in the European Erasmus+ project Edu4Impact, Sport2live has developed an experience demonstrating how physical exercise (PE) can become a powerful tool for motivation, inclusion, and personal growth for adults.
On February 7th, Sport2live organised a special event in Llinars del Vallès to celebrate participants who successfully completed the 2025 Sport Challenge. During the event, participants received official Sport2live t-shirts as recognition of their effort, perseverance, and commitment throughout the challenge.
This initiative highlights how sport can create meaningful experiences that strengthen both physical well-being and social-emotional skills, particularly among people in recovery from addictions.
The programme in action
To ensure accessibility and participation for people with different physical conditions and recovery stages, two groups were organised during the event:
Easy group walk (7–8 km)
Running training session (10 km)
Participants took part in the activity in a supportive and non-competitive environment, focusing on personal progress rather than performance. For many of them, completing the challenge represented much more than a physical achievement — it symbolised commitment to their recovery process, perseverance in difficult moments, and the rebuilding of self-confidence.
At Sport2live, physical activity is used as a transformative tool for health, empowerment, and community inclusion, helping individuals reconnect with their bodies and develop healthier routines.
Developing Social Emotional Learning through sport
Through experiences like this, Sport2live integrates Social Emotional Learning (SEL) into physical activity, helping participants develop key life skills such as:
- Self-confidence and self-efficacy – Completing a physical challenge reinforces participants’ belief in their own abilities.
- Perseverance and commitment – Training and completing the challenge requires consistency and effort over time.
- Motivation and goal setting – Participants learn to set achievable goals and experience the satisfaction of reaching them.
- Sense of belonging and inclusion – Taking part in a group activity creates supportive social connections and strengthens community ties.
- Emotional resilience – Physical challenges help individuals learn to manage discomfort, frustration, and personal barriers.
By linking these experiences to everyday life, coaches encourage participants to recognise how the same perseverance and discipline developed through sport can be applied to work, relationships, and long-term recovery processes.
A milestone for recovery and community
For many participants, receiving the Sport2live t-shirt during the event symbolised recognition of their effort and a reminder that small achievements can lead to significant personal change.
“The challenge was not only about distance or physical performance,” explains Berta Domínguez, Head of the Addictions and Youth Programme at Sport2live. “It was about showing participants that they are capable of setting goals, working together, and achieving something meaningful. These experiences build confidence and help people feel part of a supportive community.”
Through initiatives like this, Sport2live continues to demonstrate how sport can be a powerful educational and social tool, supporting the objectives of the Edu4Impact Erasmus+ project to promote inclusive learning and personal development through physical activity.
